9:30 pm – Glen’s day

on November 10, 2011

Glen made progress today in terms of his breathing capabilities. He was able to reach a level where his lungs were doing 35% of the work while the machine did 65%. The goal is for him to accomplish at least 60% on his own before they can safely operate on the broken bones. At least this is how I understand the numbers we are hearing. He was able to spend 4 hours on his back which is major since it is the most difficult position for his lungs to work efficiently.

Although progress seems excruciatingly slow it is, nonetheless, progress. We can hold on to that for now.

I know Glen to be a disciplined, willful individual of great faith and if anyone can overcome this, he can.

This is fantastic news!!! It may seem slow to you, but that is huge progress and very encouraging (I’m a critical care nurse). I’ve been praying specifically for the healing of his lungs. He is in an excellent hospital and the Rotoprone bed is amazingly effective. God bless all of you.
