The silent army at work

on November 15, 2011

As we face the realities of the situation, I need to mention the silent army of family and friends that have stepped up and stepped in to help sort out the myriad details of Sandra and Glen’s finances, insurance, daycare, kid’s doctors, etc.

With both Sandra and Glen unable to provide any information, we have found ourselves unsure of how to go about making sure that their bills are being paid, insurance contacts are being made and followed up on and all the many details of their lives are being taken care of.

Fortunately, and without mentioning names, there seems to be someone who can help in almost every facet. These people have been working tirelessly in the background making calls, looking into legal matters, contacting people, filling out forms and trying to make sure that nothing falls between the cracks. Many of these same people are also frequently at the hospital. All this while they conduct their own busy lives.

So I would just like to acknowledge and thank these people for their contributions for, without them, I don’t know what we would do.

While we can’t be there to offer our support and help, please know that those of us in Michigan have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

That is sooo good to hear and fortunately how God provides for us….through the angels who step in and care for us.

Praise God for this silent army – I can’t even imagine all of the items that need to be taken care of – and without any assistance from Sandy or Glen, that has to be so difficult. I join you in thanking each of those individuals who are making such a tremendous difference and contribution to the Walker family. God is good – even in the midst of adversity.

Doug and Cindy- We have been praying so much for Sandy and Glen. We read your blog to keep updated and we praise God for each little miracle. We know God is surrounding you with many angels- what a blessing! Even though we aren’t family, we feel a special bond with you.
We send you our love and constant prayers.

We are so glad Sandy and Glenn have such a supportive network of friends. It comes as no surprise, since Doug and Cindy have always opened their their hearts and home to family and friends…there always seemed to be room for one more person at their gatherings. Hugs and love, Jeri and Char

  6. Is there a place where we can make a financial contribution? I live out of the country but want to support them and can only imagine how difficult this will be financially.

Praying hard every day for Sandy and Glen’s recovery, for all their family for continued strength during this healing process (especially for their beautiful children), and for the medical staff to do everything in their power with God’s help to help Sandy and Glen.
    Sending hugs from Michigan,
    Amanda and Patrick Sorrelle

    Michael,
I sent you a message about the claim information. I know you have people already helping you but if I can lend a hand, please let me do so. I handled claims for 8 years all bodily injury attorney rep and so forth. If you need anything, let me know.

I do not know Sandra personally but I have read all the comments and it truly is inspirational to me. I’m so glad she got to see her children for her birthday. My continued prayers for them and hope to see you soon.

    Jill
