Our Thanks & Gratitude

on December 19, 2011

Glen & I have lost our loving, caring, wonderful and everything else that would make a son “almost” perfect (A mother’s perception of course) and he will be greatly missed.  Through our tears, sorrow and heartbreak, we are unfortunate to be on a road “less traveled”.  It is a very difficult and long journey, the worst we have and ever will experience.  However, with God at our side and walking along with us, and with your continued prayers and support, we are looking forward for the Peace, comfort and a bright light at the end of this journey.  God is in charge and we know that He loves us and we love Him, and we will continue to build our faith and trust in Him.  We are weakened, but not defeated and God will not give us more than we can bear.  Our rewards and blessing will be in abundance through Glenroy’s legacy.

To all of you who have visited us at the hospital and at home, and who have supported us with your prayers, hugs, support, contributions, and kind words, we truly thank you.  Glenroy has built a community of friends, and it was represented at his celebration of life on December 3rd.  In whatever ways Glenroy has touched your lives, please pass it on to others and help to make this world a better place.  Let’s love, forgive and pray for each other so his legacy will live on.  All of you will be a part of the memory Glenroy has implanted in our hearts and we love you all dearly.  Call us or visit us as we go through this difficult time.  You names we may forget, but face will last for a long time.  Take care, enjoy life, and may God bless all of you.

    Mr and Mrs Walker,

I never got to meet you both but have known Glen and Michael for many years. Glen through football and work. I’m also in the insurance business.

You have raised two amazing young men. I’ve seen Michael grow up through the years of playing flag football and Glen was one of a kind.

The way you all have showed your strength through this heartbreaking time has been incredible.

My heart goes out to you both.

    Take care,

    Jill

    Mr. and Mrs. Walker,

I only met your son through friends at Norcross a couple of times. I am sad that we lost contact through the years, even though I did not know him well, I knew that he was an amazing person to his family and friends. May God Bless all of you and if there is anything you need, please don’t hestitate to contact me. I will always think of Glen and your family.

    Take Care

    Mr. and Mrs. Walker,

My continued thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. Glenroy was an amazing man and true friend to all he met. Take pride in knowing that your son has touched and will continue to touch so many lives. Your love, support, and the values you instilled in him made him the incredible man he was. May you find peace in the days to come and know that you have thousands of people cheering you on!

    With love,
    Stephanie Horne

Your message was beautifully stated. Glen was indeed a great man and the little time my husband and I knew him was a blessing, Whenever we saw him he was in a GREAT mood and always had a smile on his face!! ;o) He will surely be missed!

    Dear Pam and Glen,
Your words of affirmation of God’s love for you and those who loved your son and how He is in control, brought tears to my eyes. We continue to pray for all of you.
We never met Glen or Sandra, but because Cindy works with Scott Joling, one of our best friends, we found out about their accident through Scott’s wife, Mimi. We have been praying ever since and will continue.
God’s grace fall upon you all!
    Merry Christmas with love.

Dearest Pam and Glen – we continue every day to pray for you both, as well as Sandra, Mike, Michelle, Dwayne, Albert, Derek and the many, many more who loved Glen and feel his loss deeply. We are so honored to have had the chance to know him, even if just for a short time. What a wonderful young man – a credit to you both. We feel so fortunate to have been able to join our families, welcome Mike into our lives last May, and feel the love of the Walkers – in both the best and worst of circumstances. Glen leaves an amazing legacy – as the sadness slowly eases, and even now, we will all remember him with big smiles and happy hearts. God bless you both.

  7. Dear Pam and Glen,

Thank you for inspiring even complete strangers with your words filled with strength and hope. I especially love this part: We are weakened, but not defeated and God will not give us more than we can bear. I truly admire your resilience.

Your heart, over time, becomes a mass of bruises and scratches — taped where torn and sewn where ripped. But your heart, no matter how scarred, was made big enough to fit the world in it.

    Merry Christmas.

*hugs from the other side of the world*

    My dear Pam and Glen,

My heart and love have been with you during these past difficult weeks and you have been in my thoughts every single day since the accident. I have so wanted in some way to be able to ease your heartache but I just did not know how. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to meet Glen during Michelle and Mike’s wedding festivities in May. I have loved reading the many tributes to him and watching the beautiful video following his life from the time he was born. How very proud you must be to have raised such a wonderful young man. Please know that I am sending much love to you, Sandra and the children, Mike and Michelle and all those caring family and friends of Glen.

    Sincerely,

    Peggy Mione (Michelle’s Gran)
